Friends - What if Phoebe Married David Instead of Mike?

So, it's now been over 10 years since Friends, one of the most loved series, came to an end and even though the show has ended - we're still thinking about what could have happened if the characters went down different paths…. 

It really was a fairytale ending - Ross and Rachel finally got together, Chandler and Monica had their twins, Joey was - well, Joey and Phoebe had her 'normal' wedding, getting married to Mike BUT Hank Azaria who played David (Phoebe's former lover) recently gave an interview and the Friends 'Fairytale' ending isn't how it was meant to be….. 

"I honestly didn't know that it was the end of 'David', the plan was always to kind of bring him back at some point." 

"But, what I think happened is that Paul Rudd (Mike) was so awesome, they sort of found a groove with him."

"Meaning that my character (David) just became more of just, grist for that mill."

So, now we know that the original plan was for David to return to the series at some point however Mike proved that little bit more popular with the writers and fans of the show. 

It does leave some food for thought about what could have been however more often than not - we all prefer the fairytale ending with a happy scenario and that's what Friends did….
