Great Ormond Street cure two babies with Leukemia

Doctors at GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital) have announced that they have successfully cured two babies of Leukemia.
Great Ormond Street Hospital has recently announced that they have been successful in curing two babies of Leukemia.

Traditional methods had previously failed however this is a revolutionary technique and a breakthrough in the medical world.

The approach used at Great Ormond Street Hospital is an "off-the-shelf" approach in which T-Cells are modified, the patient is then hooked up to an IV with the genetically engineered cells being dripped into the patients veins whenever needed.

Previous methods have failed at Great Ormond Street Hospital and there are many critics out there however a year after their treatments and both babies are in remission and doing well.

Doctors at the hospital are saying that the treatment is "almost a miracle" and "staggering" as it's the world's first successful treatment using this technique - with genetically engineered immune cells provided by a donor.

We wish both babies well and we hope that this technology can be developed further - we're on the right track in curing cancer!
