Nutella removed from supermarkets after fear of CANCER causing Palm Oil found in product
Could Nutella really be causing cancer?
The European food standard authority has warned that Palm Oil (the edible part) is carcinogenic (cancer-causing) and even with moderate consumption, there is a risk of cancer developing.
The lack of definitive data means that no level of palm oil can be considered as safe resulting in the Hazlenut spread being removed from stores.
The same oil is being found in other foods including - Ben & Jerry's, Cadbury's Chocolate and Clover however at the moment, Nutella is the item which is facing the most backlash from consumers with the product being pulled off the shelves.
Ferrero - the company, has since launched an advertising campaign in an attempt to re-assure it's customers that it's products are completely safe but sales started to drop back in August 2016.
The company claims that Palm Oil is used in Nutella to give it the smooth texture that it's known for and not for costing purposes.
Wow 😳 I love Nutella and I ve been eating loads over the years 😏
