Explosion in Northern France
Explosion at nuclear plant, run by EDF, in northern France.
There has been an explosion at a nuclear plant which is run by EDF, in Northern France causing injuries but with NO risk of contamination.
Following the blast, EDF said that a fire led to an explosion in the "machine room" where one of the two nuclear reactors is located.
Continuing to say that the fire was "immediately brought under control" with the first reactor being disconnected from the grid.
There have been injuries reported with five people saying that they are feeling unwell however everyone has been looked at by rescue services who were on site right away.
There is another reactor which is being built at the same nuclear plant but the explosion did not take place near it a spokesperson for the nuclear plant confirmed.
