9 Million people always or often feel lonely - The Minister For Loneliness has just been established in the UK and you can see all the details below.
A lot of people put loneliness to one side however in Britain, due to research - there's a serious problem with loneliness with more than 9 million, yes - 9 million people in the country often or always feeling lonely.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Theresa May appointed a minister for loneliness and said the following surrounding the matter - "For far too many people, loneliness is the sad reality of modern life. I want to confront this challenge for our society and for all of us to take action and to address the loneliness which is endured by the elderly, by carers, by those who have lost loved ones of by people who have no one to talk to or share their thoughts and experiences with."
The Office for National Statistics will now help to establish a method for measuring loneliness and a fund will be set-up to help the government and charities involved in helping to develop a wider strategy to help tackle the ongoing issue in the UK.
