ALERT - LIDL Gravy Recall
If you've recently bought gravy from Lidl - don't eat it!
Lidl is recalling it's 'Kania Gravy Granules' after unsafe levels of a paint thinning chemical was found in two batches of the gravy sold by Lidl stores - just one week before Christmas.
The Food Standards Agency said that the presence of Xylene could "pose a health risk" and exposure to the harmful chemical could also cause irritation of the mouth, throat and lungs.
Following the news, the firm released the following statement - "If you have bought the product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to a Lidl UK store for a full refund. Other Kania products are not affected by this recall."
The products which are affected by this are the 300g packets of Gravy Granules - for meat and for chicken.
Best Before Dates - October and November 2017
No other batches are thought to have been affected by this however if you are worried, simply go to your local Lidl UK store with the item and they'll be able to help you.
