Jamie Oliver Closes Six Jamie's Italian Restaurants
Even the most well-known celebrities have to close down stores….
Tunbridge Wells, Exeter, Cheltenham, The Aberdeen, Ludgate and Richmond are amongst the restaurants which will be closing soon.
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is set to close six of his 42 "Jamie's Italian" restaurants in the UK.
The closure of the stores will affect around 120 members of staff with the company saying that the market is tough and will look at "placing people in other parts of the chain" to avoid the loss of jobs.
Typically, one Jamie's Italian restaurant needs to attract at least 3000 diners per week or at least 420 diners per day in order to be profitable.
The chief executive said that the market was "tough" and with the rise in price of the ingredients they use within the restaurants, it's better to close down the six stores (mentioned) and retain focus on the other stores around the UK to ensure they remain profitable.
