Here's what happened to the White House Website

Here's what happened to the White House Website

As soon as Donald Trump took the oath at office and became the 45th President of the United States, here's what happened to the White House Website.

So many people are wondering what has happened to the White House Website and here, we have all the details for you.

The White House Website has changed to President Trump's administration with ALL of the policy areas too.

This doesn't mean (as reported by media) that President Obama's information and policies have been deleted - no!
In fact, everything is being migrated and moved to different platforms where people will still have the access to view old articles, documents and information.

What has happened to the White House Website? How to find Obama's policies?

All the material created under Obama's Administration is being preserved and transferred - along with documents, tweets, material, snaps and social media features.

The information that was previously on the White House website will now be archived and migrated over to a new website for the Obama's called - ObamaWhiteHouse.gov

What Happened to the White House Website - President Trump

Not only has the website received a complete overhaul for President Trump but it's also the social media accounts that are being changed to make way for the new President.

The POTUS (President of the United States) account will be made available for President Trump - the account will retain it's followers however it'll be a blank start with nothing on the timeline.

The social media tweets made by President Obama and team will now be migrated over to a new account POTUS44 .

All social media accounts will be migrated and transferred making way for their new owners under President Trump.

What Happened to the White House Website - The Switchover

As some media has been reporting, the switchover doesn't mean that things are deleted.

Everything is carefully thought through, organised and planned to ensure migration and transferring of data is done in the smoothest way possible.

It's a part of the formal presidential transition to leave the way for the new presidency to takeover and feature their own policies.

Think of it like moving home - the previous owner will take all their belongings and the new owner will move in and add new items, new designs and new inspiration to personalise it and make it their own.

The new White House Website already has several of President Trump's policies online including - trade, law enforcement, energy and foreign policy.
