This is why you need to STOP using Vaseline!!!

Vaseline is one of the worlds most recognised products however there's new research showing why you should stop using it…. 



Originally used in the 1800's to coat the bottom of oil rigs, new research shows that Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) is anything but healthy. 

Used as pictured above - it's also found in baby products, lotions, creams and known to be used on dry skin, chapped lips, nappy rash and irritated skin but here are reasons why you need to STOP using it - immediately! 


Contains HARMFUL Hydrocarbons 

Our skin is unable to process petroleum jelly (Vaseline) - it just sits on the skin as a protective coat or 'barrier' however it blocks your body from absorbing any compounds that it needs to heal. 

Research shows that Vaseline contains mineral oil hydrocarbons which are "the greatest contaminant of the human body". 

A little bit of research goes a long way! 


Can Cause Pneumonia - In Rare Conditions

This is a rare condition however it's known as lipid pneumonia which can sometimes occur when small amounts of petroleum jelly are inhaled. 

The body is unable to dispose of/ break down the substance resulting in inflammation in the lungs. 


Destroys Skin Collagen 

We think that Vaseline helps our skin but as mentioned above - it sits on your skin like a 'barrier' not allowing your skin to breathe of take in any of the relevant nutrients that it needs. 

Resulting in a lack of moisture and it's own ability to rejuvenate - leading to a breakdown of collagen within. 


What is Petroleum Jelly?

Petroleum Jelly goes by the name os Vaseline and was initially discovered in the 1800's when it was actually used for coating the bottom of oil rigs. 

Not only is Vaseline used as pictured above - it's also used in a large number of baby products, lotions and creams however it does more harm than good

Natural Alternatives To Vaseline 

There are so many other products out there that we can benefit from and here are some natural alternatives to Vaseline. 

Shea Butter

With so many wonderful alternatives - why would you continue using Vaseline??
