School Cuts - School makes day 30 minutes shorter due to funding cuts.
A special needs school in Birmingham has had to shorten it's school days due to funding cuts.
The school has written to parents, letting them know that they will be reducing school days by 30 minutes due to funding cuts which are taking place.
It is thought that the money-saving plan will go ahead from September and its not only a shorter day - it's possible that some staff could lose their jobs in the process.
Currently, this is the first school in the UK to be taking such action due to the funding cuts which are taking place but other schools are not far behind.
Other schools have also started writing to parent asking for regular cash contributions and donations for books and necessities.
