Sir Roger Moore has passed away at the age of 89 after a short battle with cancer.
His family announced the news earlier today, releasing a statement and sharing a post on twitter which read the following - "Thank you pops for being you and being so very special to so many people."
The star who is best known for playing James Bond, died in Switzerland and will have a private funeral in Monaco as he wished - his children said.
"The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone" - the statement from Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian.
