At Least 1 MILLION Android Users Details Stolen
Android generally doesn't receive the best press and the latest details have now emerged that there is a new type of Android Malware.
The new malware is called 'Gooligan' which is hacking an estimated 13,000 devices per day - accessing sensitive information through Gmail Google Photos, Google Play and other apps too.
Uncovered by CheckPoint (the cyber security firm) - the malware steals email addresses and tokens which are stored on android devices and also creating revenue for the criminals by posting review on apps on behalf of the user.
It's being estimated that 4 out 5 Android users will be affected by this, meaning it's about 74% of users who use the Android System and is infecting 13,000 devices per day.
CheckPoint is currently working with Google to try and combat this malware system and bring back some trust to it's users.
