Really? London to New York in 20 Minutes? 

So, will we really be able to get from London to New York in just 20 minutes?

Charles Bombadier thinks so - the Canadian Designer of the Antipode explains how this could become the revolutionary aircraft to make the impossible, possible. 

With it's futuristic technology, this will work with specially designed aerodynamics - some of the air would go through the nozzle and into the nose of the plane which will create a 'counter-flowing' jet of air. 

The engine would bring the Antipode up to speeds of around 16,000 mph - a normal plane reaches around 570 mph whilst travelling. 

The take-off wouldn't work in the same way as a traditional plane, in fact, this would take off in a similar way to a rocket! Upright, reaching 40,000 feet and once at the correct level would proceed to travelling like a normal plane. 

As wonderful as the technology sounds, the aircraft itself would only be able to carry around 10 passengers and we're guessing the tickets won't be something that everyone can afford - especially in the beginning. 

If things go to plan - this could be the ultimate game changer…
