Theresa May to hold General Election June 8th
Theresa May has held unexpectedly announced that she is seeking to hold a General Election on the 8th June.
The announcement was made this morning with the Prime Minister Thereasa May saying that this is the "only way to guarantee certainly and stability for the years ahead" and continuing that she is seeking "your support for the decisions I must take".
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will move a motion for an early-election in the House of Commons for MP's to vote on and this will require two-thirds majority to be carried.
The decision has been made "reluctantly" by Theresa May - she said this a number of times in her statement but feels that this is the only way for people to support the party in the decisions it has to make - especially surrounding Brexit.
