The DANGER of spray tans that no one talks about…
There's something you need to know about Spray Tans…
For years, it has been proven that tanning beds increase the risk of skin cancer and with new research (which is still ongoing) - it looks like the same is being said about spray tans too.
Unknown to many people, spray tans contain a chemical called dihydroxyacetone which is also known as DHA.
DHA is the chemical that helps your skin turn into a golden brown colour and previously unknown to many people - this can actually penetrate the skin and be absorbed by living skin cells.
This is new research - as up until now, people assumed this couldn't get past the dead skin cells on the top of your skin.
Professors of Dermatology in New York University have confirmed that DHA alters the genes of cells and there is currently more research which is undergoing - including on pregnant women to see if there is a link between spray tans and birth defects.
